Hello World. We are Robert and Candice Fox – a young married couple from Michigan wanting a little change in our lives. So, what do we do? Quit our jobs, sell everything we own, and go for a little stroll on the Pacific Crest Trail.
Or, at least, that WAS the plan.
Due to some non-life threatening but plan-altering temporary illness,we had to change plans and put our PCT dream on hold. Instead, we road-tripped through the western US, came back to Michigan to grab the whole 10 totes of things we own, and are heading back to the mountains that we love so much. For the time being, that means the great state of Colorado.
Living life with a broken compass has brought us some of the most incredible, challenging, frustrating yet rewarding experiences. Even though we may not always know where we are going, we know that what we experience along the way makes it all worth it in the end.
The purpose of our blog, beyond its primary reason of letting our family know that we have not been eaten by a bear (yet), is to share some of our adventures and to vent on how annoying my husband can be. Many people (just three, actually) tell us “I wish I could do that” or “you guys are so lucky” or “you two are the most idiotic and irresponsible people that I know”. For the latter, please redirect yourself off our page. Only cool people are allowed. For the former, I say “you can do that” and “we are actually quite unspectacular”. Just read our blog, you’ll see.
